Founder

Dr. Salma Green was born and raised in Redlands, California. Initially aspiring to be an actress, her journey took a different path and lead her to a career in medicine. After leaving Redlands High School to attend UC Irvine, she moved to North Carolina to pursue a medical degree. There, she met the “southern husband of her dreams” (according to her husband).

In North Carolina, she pursued her career in medicine and finished her training in Pennsylvania. The decision to go into family medicine was driven by her desire to diagnose and treat a wide array of conditions and work in a wide variety of settings. She has loved her work in a hospital setting, an urgent care setting, and is excited to get back to outpatient primary care the Caravel Health DPC way!

Dr. S Green has built strong connections with her patients, who often ask her to be their primary care physician. Having to heartbreakingly decline in the past due to her urgent care position, she is thrilled to say that she can finally fulfill that role! Over the past several years while working in a local urgent care, she has loved the pace and immediate gratification of helping a patient feel better when they were sick or injured. She is excited to incorporate that with her simultaneous desire to develop lifelong patient-doctor relationships, treating her patients through each stage of life - and even better, her urgent care visits are now with patients she already knows. She is thankful for the opportunity to slow down and spend more time with patients to assure they receive the highest quality, most evidence based medical attention.

She is extremely dedicated to patient care and has earned the reputation for being the first one in the office and the last to leave. She developed a habit of calling patients after urgent appointments to check in, even while working corporate medicine,  highlighting her passion for patient care and her desire to form relationships with her patients. Dr S Green has witnessed firsthand how broken the healthcare system is, leading to sicker patients due to lack of access and time. This realization has led her to believe that Direct Primary Care is the solution, offering a more personalized and accessible approach to healthcare. She feels it a privilege serve her hometown and bring authentic family medicine to her community.

Dr. S Green is deeply grateful for the support of her mother, father, sister, and husband, who have helped her get this far in her journey. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, her dogs, playing golf, shopping, and going to the beach. She is also a proud mother to a beautiful daughter and loves being a mom. The transition to Direct Primary Care is especially meaningful to her because it allows her to spend more time with her daughter while continuing to provide personalized care to her patients.
